Prof. Karsten Huneck, Head of Program, BA Architecture at Berlin International, will be part of the conference at the renowned Big Design Festival, which will be held at the Ljubljana Castle in Slovenia on October 27, 2022, from 10:00 to 22:00 (CEST).
The festival features three events that are taking place parallel to each other.
The festival is organized in partnership with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia, Municipality of Ljubljana, S, Oliver, Sencila Bled, BSH Group, Gaggenau, Tece, Hansgrohe, Axor Design, Zumtobel Group, Geberit, and Egger.
The Conference at the Big Design Festival offers a place for interdisciplinary dialogue on the role of design and architecture in the framework of accelerating global changes. It explores the relationship between quality design, innovation, changing demands, and response in design & architecture today; and more than that considers how these changing relationships are shaping the practice today and in the future.
The conference aims to rethink old concepts and open up new space for visionary thoughts as a response to the challenges of the 21st century.
Apart from Prof. Karsten Huneck and his partner Bernd Trümpler from KHBT, many other designers, architects, managers, and brand experts are expected to take part in the conference and share their valuable ideas.

The Big Design Festival is a genuine festival day in the mold of the region’s ancient feasts and gregarious celebrations, placed in the middle of the Ljubljana Month of Design.
It is at the same time an A-List conference, a networking whirlwind for designers and investors and everyone in between, therefore a boundless opportunities generator, and a launchpad of innovative ideas. Additionally, it includes several curated international exhibitions and one of the continent’s major design awards showcasing creativity from South-Eastern Europe’s 21 countries.
