At Whitecliffe University of Applied Sciences (Berlin Campus), students from Architecture, Interior Architecture / Interior Design, and Graphic Design & Visual Communication collaborated on an interdisciplinary design project in partnership with BVG.

The project focused on rethinking BVG’s large employee canteen in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg.

Project Scope

Working in interdisciplinary teams, students developed concepts that combined different areas of design. The project included:

  • Spatial concepts for the canteen
  • Catering processes and workflows
  • Signage and orientation systems
  • Visual identity and branding
  • Menu design
  • Merchandise concepts

The aim was to create a cohesive concept that reflects BVG’s character as a diverse, approachable, and distinctly Berlin-based organization.

Final Presentation

The project concluded with a final presentation and award ceremony held at the BVG canteen. Students presented their concepts on site.

One team was selected for their concept:

“Die Linie” by Underground Studio

Jana Farzaneh Sani, Miruna-Ana Herbeiu, Sara Sóley Ómarsdóttir, Guðrún Ásta Pálsdóttir, Gilli Sternfeld, and Yvette Yik Khee Tjon-Ka-Jie

The team received a BVG underground tour experience as a prize.
