BAU student discusses experiences with Chancellor Angela Merkel

Moataz Ghannam, prospective student at BAU International Berlin – University of Applied Sciences, Chancellor Angela Merkel to discuss challenges and opportunities for refugee students in Germany.

Moataz is a success story about the integration into the university sector in Germany. In his home country Syria, Moataz had already attended university, but could not finish his studies. After having fled to Germany, he continued his education at Kiron, a platform providing online courses for refugees. Kiron Open Higher Education and BAU International Berlin cooperate as partners to facilitate university access for motivated and gifted university students. Additionally, BAU International Berlin conducts various different projects and activities funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) with Means of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). With his acceptance at BAU International Berlin, Moataz was granted a university-internal scholarship to support his studies. Berlin and Moataz start internship provided via BAU International Berlin. Now Moataz is not progressing with his studies at BAU International Berlin.
