Navigating the German university admission system can be a daunting task, especially with the Numerus Clausus (NC) playing a significant role. If you are aiming for a spot in popular study programs, understanding the NC is crucial. However, if you are looking for business studies specifically, we have some suggestions for you that do not require the NC.
The Numerus Clausus (NC) is a system used in Germany to manage the admissions process for university programs with high demand. It essentially refers to a "closed number" of available slots for a course. The NC is determined by the grades students receive in their Abitur, the German high school leaving certificate. When more students apply for a program than there are places available, the university sets an NC limit. Only students with grades equal to or better than this limit are admitted.
Given the competitive nature of business studies in Germany, many universities enforce NC. Nonetheless, there are opportunities for students to find business studies programs without stringent NC requirements. Berlin International University of Applied Sciences is one of them.
Our business programs are set within the unique Berlin context, which not only houses many multinational corporations (MNCs) but also represents a significant start-up hub in Europe.
