Berlin International University of Applied Sciences is thrilled to announce the success of our students at the 19th edition of the Cosentino Design Challenge (CDC) – an internationally recognized competition celebrating innovation in architecture and design.
This year’s competition, themed “Cosentino and Nature: Biophilic Design” for the Design category, attracted 323 submissions from more than 40 universities worldwide. We are proud to share that three of our students were recognized among the top projects.
Our talented students stood out among hundreds of participants with their remarkable concepts:
Enrica Giorelli – Winner, Design Category
Project: ECOHAVEN
“ECOHAVEN is a modular system made from Dekton® slabs by Cosentino, designed to integrate micro-habitats for birds, pollinators, and plants into the urban environment.”
Selhan Selcuk – Runner-Up, Design Category
Project: BOSFERA
“BOSFERA is a biophilic dining table designed with Cosentino’s Dekton® and Silestone® surfaces, featuring an integrated central planter and organic-shaped wooden legs inspired by tree branches.”
Mar Carrascosa Agustin – Runner-Up, Design Category
Project: BENCH & BLOOM
“The proposal incorporates biophilia through the inclusion of a natural tree integrated into the structure of the furniture. This choice connects users with nature, offering an enriching sensory experience in an urban environment, which promotes emotional well-being, reduces stress, and improves quality of life.”
These achievements highlight the exceptional talent of Berlin International students and their ability to merge sustainability, functionality, and aesthetics into meaningful design solutions.
